Born from the same earth
as the nuraghi
Four million years ago, volcanoes shaped Sardinia, leaving behind a dense, dark basalt with a texture unlike anything else on earth — the same stone Sardinians would use, three thousand years later, to build the nuraghi that still stand today. The name BAINOS means “to follow the path”, rooted in ancient Sardinian and Akkadian: the right name for a dial written by geology, not by a designer.

The dial is cut from genuine Sardinian volcanic basalt, individually worked and mounted in a 41mm 316L steel case. Because basalt is a natural material, no two dials are ever identical: pores, veining and texture were written by millions of years of geological pressure. Your BAINOS will be the only watch in the world with that exact dial.

The screw-down crown has been enlarged for a secure everyday grip and is embossed with the BAINOS mark. It guarantees 10 ATM (100 meters) of water resistance — more than enough for everyday life: showers, rain, the occasional swim.

Surgical-grade 316L steel case, 41mm, 11.5mm thick, sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. This isn’t a fashion watch: it’s built to last decades, made to go with you wherever you are in the world — the same way Sardinians carry their identity with them, to every corner of the planet.

Through the exhibition caseback you can see the heart of BAINOS: the Swiss Sellita SW220-1 automatic caliber, with a 38-hour power reserve and consistent everyday reliability — serviceable at any certified watchmaker in the world. The caseback also carries your piece’s number, from 001/100 to 100/100.

Raw basalt, fresh out of the quarry, is grey, rough and porous. Turning it into a luxury dial takes a four-stage artisan process, perfected only after twelve factories told us it couldn’t be done.
